Objective
My objective is to return to a high/middle science class in the 2011-2012 school year and teach
students that are currently without, but in need of my services.
Ability Summary
I am able to convert a traditional paper classroom into a "paperless" classroom with the technology I already
have at my disposal. My science labs are a combination of practical hands-on and computer simulations when hands-on
applications are impractical.
I am also able to manage at-risk students because of my experience teaching high school and middle school
science at two different Gary, Indiana public alternative education schools.

Most recently, I taught high school and middle school science at Chase alternative school until it closed
in June 2009. Chase Alternative school in Gary, Indiana was a second chance school for students considered
too disruptive or unable to cope with a more traditional school environment.
While at Chase Alternative school, I taught on long-term assignment without certification. After Chase
Alternative closed I returned to Calumet College of St. Joseph to complete all courses and received my teacher certification
in middle/junior high/high school Life Science (December 2010). |
